In fact, this virus is a type of virus that the negative-oriented Anunnakis they use in order to influence other beings to subdue them' (T39, Galactic Federation, 2021-06-08).

The Anunnaki Resistance faction — the Service-to-Self splinter the corpus repeatedly names as Earth's primary remaining cabal-architect — is described as having seeded the virus into the planetary biosphere via terrestrial-aligned operatives. The Omicron variant is described as initially fabricated by 'the egoic self of many of your people known as the scientists' and then amplified by collective fear-belief (T108, Archangel Michael, 2021-12-10).

Importantly, the corpus does not give a single deterministic explanation.
