The Astral Plane is channeled across 17+ transcripts as the energetic plane that sits between the third-density physical world and the higher densities — the realm of dreams, after-death life-review, conscious out-of-body projection, and the astral meetings the corpus describes as a feature of the present ascension window. The Martians introduce it in the context of karma: "the consciousness of Gaia, hence resulting in one entity dying and the one reaching the astral plane and during its life review process" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). Sirians describe live astral meetings: "Earth collective meetings which are occurring at this moment in the astral planes and many entities on the Earth planets now have the opportunity to attend such meetings by using their astral body" (T220, Sirians, 2022-08-23). The plane is also a zone of contestation with negative entities.
What the Astral Plane Is
The Astral Plane is the corpus's name for the energetic layer that sits immediately above the third-density physical world. It is not a physical place — no spacecraft will ever reach it — but it is a coherent realm with its own geography, inhabitants, structures, and ongoing activity. The corpus consistently treats it as the first plane a being moves through when leaving the physical body, whether temporarily (dreams, out-of-body experiences) or permanently (death).
The Martian transmission of T40 introduces it as the post-death station: "the consciousness of Gaia, hence resulting in one entity dying and the one reaching the astral plane and during its life review process. If the one who was killed is able to fully forgive the other self and itself, then it can move on to the next density and higher vibrations without having to be tangled in the karma collective" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). This frames the astral plane as the way-station between incarnations — the place where the just-departed soul integrates the life it has lived before deciding the next step.
The Sirians in T143 describe the astral body as the vehicle the soul uses on this plane: "the inner self once it is activated will also activate the astral body of each entity" (T143, Sirians, 2022-03-07). Every human has an astral body; most are unaware of it during waking life but use it nightly during sleep and use it primarily during the period between physical lives. The astral plane is the medium in which the astral body operates.
After-Death Transition
The corpus's most consistent use of the astral plane is as the realm into which the dying soul transitions. The Martian framing in T40 is foundational: at death, the soul moves to the astral plane and undergoes a life-review process — a non-judgmental encounter with the entire incarnation just completed (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). The review is structured by the Law of Karma and by the soul's own readiness; forgiveness (of self and others) is the key variable determining whether the soul ascends to higher densities or is drawn back into another third-density incarnation for further work.
T347 elaborates on the after-death support structures: "these entities primarily are guided by crossing over to their appropriate healing station in the astral planes furthermore the entities known as Kariel angelic social memory complex can also find out the vibration of a spiritual entity which has crossed over after the process of death" (T347, Galactic Federation, 2023-06-06). The astral plane is populated with healing stations and angelic helpers whose function is to receive the newly-departed, hold them in safety, and assist with the life-review and onward orientation.
The corpus treats reincarnation as the typical sequel to the astral transition. Most third-density human souls, after their review, return for another incarnation. The astral plane is therefore both a destination and a turnaround — a depot, not a final home. The exceptions are graduating souls who proceed directly to fourth-density experience, and souls who choose extended astral residence between lives for specific purposes. Both are mentioned but the corpus's main focus is on the typical reincarnational cycle.
The Astral Body and Conscious Projection
Every incarnated human has an astral body — the energetic counterpart of the physical form that operates on the astral plane. During sleep the astral body separates partially from the physical body and engages with the astral plane in ways the waking mind rarely remembers. With practice, however, the astral body can be deployed consciously while the physical body remains in bed. This is astral projection.
The channel's own teaching transmission (T240, attributed to 'Higher Density') frames this directly: "in order to learn channeling, you will have to learn how to astral project. Now astral projection is basically a type of using your imagination in a way wherein you are able to close your eyes and be in a different room. And make that real... When you are able to imagine yourself, while you are in this room, you can imagine yourself in another room or another area and then become so engrossed in the process of doing that. That is astral projection which you will have to master" (T240, Higher Density, 2022-10-11).
The Galactic Federation in T274 describes the practice as a route to direct contact with cosmic helpers: "once the entities begin to practice astral projection during their sleep state they will have the opportunity to experience the divine connection with the all-present one infinite creator and also through this they can travel through space time" (T274, Galactic Federation, 2022-12-21). Astral projection is presented as a teachable skill — initially difficult, eventually accessible — that opens direct conscious contact with higher-density beings and with parts of the cosmos otherwise unreachable to third-density humans.
Astral Meetings and Earth-Collective Gatherings

The picture is striking. Awakening humans — starseeds, wanderers, lightworkers — are convening collectively on the astral plane during sleep, coordinating energetic work in support of the ascension. Many wake with no conscious memory of these meetings but with the sense of having done significant work overnight, or feeling unaccountably tired despite full sleep. This pattern is reported across the corpus.
The Galactic Federation in T341 elaborates on the body-cost: "whenever you are interacting with the team through your astral body during your night time, you may feel extremely tired many a times and many a times you may feel that you will have to work even on your astral planes to connect with the Divine Consciousness" (T341, Saint Germain, 2023-05-23). The astral work is real labor, conducted in a real plane, and the body feels it. This is one of the corpus's recurring explanations for the chronic-fatigue pattern many awakening humans report.
Contestation by Negative Entities
The astral plane is not entirely safe. The same accessibility that lets benevolent angels guide departed souls and lets higher-density teachers convene meetings also lets negative entities operate. The corpus describes the astral as a contested zone — particularly for awakening humans whose increased astral activity makes them more visible to opportunistic predators.
T341 frames the protective dynamic: "your cosmic team, the team of light beings and other entities who are constantly interacting with your astral body and allowing you to restore your energy" (T341, Saint Germain, 2023-05-23). The astral plane is, in the corpus's framing, a real field in which the ongoing service-to-others / service-to-self contention plays out — not a safe meditation backdrop but an active arena.
Relationship to the Densities
The corpus is careful about where the astral plane sits in the density framework. The shortDescription notes it as 'lower 4th-density energetic plane' — the lowest layer of the fourth density, immediately adjacent to the third density's upper boundary. This explains a subtle structural fact: the astral plane is where the veil thins. The plane is just past the third-density barrier; in dreams, in projection, in the moments after death, the veil that obscures the higher densities from waking 3D awareness becomes locally permeable. The relationship to the higher densities is asymmetric. The astral plane connects to fourth and fifth density relatively directly — the soul can move upward from astral into higher experience. It connects downward to third density via the incarnated astral body of each living human.
