The Law of Karma is the cosmic principle of energetic balance: every action puts a vibration into motion that continues until balance is restored, often across multiple incarnations. The corpus frames karma not as punishment or moral judgement but as inertia — the Martians call it "the law of balance of the universe" operating in all seven densities (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). It is intertwined with the Law of Free Will (free choice creates the karmic seed), the Akashic Records (which record all events), and reincarnation (the multi-life timescale over which balance plays out). Forgiveness — of self and other — is the only mechanism the corpus identifies for neutralizing karma (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11; T106, Sirian High Council, 2021-12-03).
Statement of the Law
The Martians give the corpus's most precise definition: "karma is the law of balance of the universe and operates in all octaves in the 7 densities that are present in the known densities that we are aware of" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). The law operates not as a tribunal but as a physical principle: any action that creates imbalance generates a counter-pressure that persists until balance is restored, just as the Martians describe — "if a stone is placed above a plant when it is just a seed, in order to stop it from growing, this will result in the plant growing through the stone and breaking it into pieces. Such is the law of balance of the universe."
The corpus is emphatic that karma is not moral retribution from a judging deity. It is mechanical, like the inertia of a moving body: "in our understanding, karma is similar to that which you call inertia. Those actions that are put into motion will continue using the ways of balancing until such time as controlling or higher principles that you may consider as applying brakes or stopping is invoked" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). The braking principle is forgiveness — the only mechanism the corpus identifies for stopping the karmic flow before its scheduled reciprocation arrives.
Origin & Lineage in the Corpus
The Sirian High Council introduces the concept in T24, framing karmic attachment as "detrimental for your own karmic consciousness as you will have to repay such emotional karma if you collect it upon your consciousness" (T24, Sirian High Council, 2021-04-27). But the corpus's full treatment comes from the Martians in T40, which functions as the canonical karma exposition: it defines the law, identifies its recording substrate (Akashic Records, Gaia's planetary consciousness, and the subconscious mind), describes quick-karma vs delayed-karma, and articulates the forgiveness neutralization mechanism (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11).
The law surfaces again across the corpus in distinct registers. Ra and the Ra Social Memory Complex frame karma in service of the polarity-graduation system: unbalanced karma must be settled before a soul can graduate density (T87, RA, 2021-10-05; T556, RA, 2024-09-26). Archangel Michael addresses karma in the context of soul contracts and forgiveness work (T29, Archangel Michael, 2021-05-08 — themed transcripts on past-life carryover). The Sirian High Council in T106 explicitly couples emotional non-forgiveness to karmic re-incarnation: "if you forgive you will no longer be attached to those emotions and to the memories of the past" (T106, Sirian High Council, 2021-12-03).
Corollaries
Karma cannot operate without the Law of Free Will. The Martians make this dependence explicit: "there is a factor of free will bestowed upon each entity no matter which density it belongs to" — and it is the free choice that seeds the karmic motion (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11; T29, Untarians, 2021-05-08).
Karma is recorded by the Akashic Records, by Gaia's planetary consciousness, and by the subconscious mind of every entity involved (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). The Untarians describe the recording mechanism in detail: "every event that takes place in your reality and all other realities get stored in the Hall of Records" (T29, Untarians, 2021-05-08).
Karma is the mechanism by which the Law of One re-asserts itself when an entity acts as if it were truly separate. As Ra puts it in T556, the Law of One "balances" harmful actions and "places them within a context where growth and understanding are the ultimate goals" (T556, RA, 2024-09-26). Karma is the operational form of that balancing.
How It Manifests in Incarnate Life
The corpus describes karma as multi-temporal. Some karma is "quick karma" — instantaneous reciprocation "in events that are simple in nature, such as if one person punches a person, the other is also most likely to punch back instantly" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). Most karma, however, has a long latency. The Martians compare it to a seed in soil: "it takes time to actually reap and grow into a plant" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11).
When karmic balancing crosses an incarnation boundary, the corpus describes a specific mechanism. Suppose entity A kills entity B. After death, B reaches the astral plane for a life review. If B fully forgives A and itself, B can move on to higher vibrations "without having to be tangled in the karma collective." But if B does not forgive, B will wait for A to leave its body, and the two souls will "create a soul binding or a soul agreement wherein the other entity who murdered will have to pay the karmic debt in one way, shape or form" — often with reciprocal weight that has grown across the time-space gap (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). This is the Ra-material soul-contract mechanism, articulated in the corpus's own vocabulary.
Karma also operates collectively. The Martians: "the chaos you see around you is the result of the collective karma that had been collected by the human collective over many past lives" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). The current convulsions on Earth — the wars, the controlling lineages, the cabal exposures — are framed across the corpus as planetary-scale karmic balancing as Earth approaches 4th density.
Common Misunderstandings
The corpus addresses several distortions of the karma teaching head-on. First, karma is not punishment. "Karma is something that the cultures on the so called eastern hemisphere of your earth usually learn about... however, more important than a word is the meaning behind it that must be pondered upon" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). The Martians and Ra both treat karma as a balancing mechanism, not a judging one — the Creator is not weighing actions on a scale.
Second, karma is not fatalistic. Forgiveness can stop the inertia. The Martians: "this is the only way to neutralize the law of karma... forgiveness of other selves who are involved in a karmic action leads to the forgiveness of the self" (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). Crucially, the forgiveness must be of self AND other; partial forgiveness leaves the karmic loop incomplete: "some entities have made the mistake of only forgiving the other for actions that lead to karma and not forgiving the self."
Third, karma is not bypassed by spiritual bypassing. "Letting go" without genuine resolution does not neutralize karma; only authentic forgiveness does (T106, Sirian High Council, 2021-12-03). Fourth, karma does not foreclose grace. Archangel Michael and Saint Germain describe transmutative practices (violet flame invocation, light-shield meditations) that can accelerate karmic resolution — but they accelerate it, not bypass it (T211, Ashtar Command, 2022-08-04).
Practical Implications
The corpus's practical karma teaching reduces to a few imperatives. First, observe how the universe responds to action — recognize that any felt sense of "unfairness" being inflicted on you is, statistically, the universe balancing earlier action (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11). Second, do forgiveness work — of others, of the self, and especially of the self, since unforgiven self is the most common karmic anchor (T40, Martians, 2021-06-11; T106, Sirian High Council, 2021-12-03).
Third, refrain from generating new karma where possible. The Ziorbions and Ra describe a tipping point in spiritual evolution where a being becomes karma-aware enough to interrupt the inertia at the seed stage: choosing the response rather than letting it generate fresh karma (T16, Ziorbions, 2021-04-07). Fourth, recognize the Akashic substrate as real. Every thought-form is being recorded; this is not metaphor (T29, Untarians, 2021-05-08; T385, RA, 2023-08-29). For an entity preparing for 4th-density graduation, balancing karma is not optional bookkeeping — it is the technical prerequisite for the vibrational threshold.
